If you have lived in Douglas County for very long chances are good that you have heard about, and most likely taken part in, our annual Glade Top Trail Flaming Fall Review and the traditional barbeque dinner that takes place amidst the beautiful and tranquil fall colors of our own Mark Twain National Forest.  This year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2009  which  marks the 49th year people have been coming from all parts of the state, and beyond, to soak up a bit of our Ozark Treasure.  Ride in the comfort of your car while you witness the unparalleled beauty of our wonderful and tranquil Ozark hills and countryside.  The Glade Top Trail extends through the Mark Twain National Forest, with a 25 mile stretch across the top of mountain ranges and through an area heavily populated by deer, turkey, and other wildlife.  The views are spectacular during  the fall season, making this tour one of the most scenic in the nation.

Once you reach the Caney Picnic Area on the Glade Top Trail, there will be live musical entertainment by Harlan Davis and the Home Town Express & Spring Creek Band.  There will also be pumpkin painting for the kids  and   our traditional delicious menu selections which consist of:

 Slowly Smoked & Hand– Pulled Pork Dinner served with a sandwich bun, a generous portion of baked beans, choice of potato salad or coleslaw, pickle spear, & choice of ice tea, lemonade, or Coffee. $6.50

Good Ol’ Brown Beans with Ham- Get your fill of  brown beans, served up with homemade cornbread, and your choice of ice tea, lemonade, or coffee. $4.00

Children’s Plate - For the young at heart, BBQ hot dog, served with potato chips and lemonade. $2.50

Dinner will be served from 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM
